iPhoneography: January STUMP '13

lofty broken catherdral

Tired, happy, blessed and craving a peanut butter, chocolate and banana milkshake. I have spent this last week living in Sydney's inner city, leading a team of young people in urban mission. We spent the week learning about the services that exist in Sydney that reach out to give a hand up to many people. We also came along side some of these services and helped out with whatever needed to be done. This week was filled with laughter, with tears, with challenges, with stories and with hope. I already miss my January STUMP family. I miss living in community. I miss trying to learn American slang and accents. This week was a beautiful mix of learning, of giving and of receiving. Of being broken and of being whole. Take me back, I've left my heart in Surry Hills. Hope. Healing. Restoration, x.

Cmd + T Your World: Goodbye CATC

1

Every so often you meet a person that changes your life. This past year I have met at least twenty of them. They are the graduating graphic design class of february 2013. They are also each of my lecturers and every one else I have come into contact with because of CATC and design this year. So many stories, much laughter, and an entire year of amazing memories. May you go as far as your dreams are big, may you forever spell treat with two t's and may your 2013 be even more amazing than our last. Rockin' happy/sad/tiger photos under the cut. See you at graduation, x.

Glass Mountains, Ampersands and Mini Teacups: The Eumundi Markets.

This weekend included one of my most favourite things ever: road trips. Saturday morning, myself and three friends drove a little way down the road and visited the Eumundi Markets. These markets are a huge community event in the small town of Eumundi, on the Sunshine Coast. Filled to the brim with beautiful market stalls, food and things to see, Saturday was a stunning day. One of my most favourite stalls was Dolly Did It, who sells itty bitty tea set pendants, amongst other things. I am in love. I also just found out that they take online orders, so I probably should warn my bank account. The same goes for the wood typography stall. I nabbed the owners details but they seemed to fall out of my pocket during the day, so I am going on a massive google hunt to try and find his website because his work was to die for. Hand carved quotes and sayings in stunning typography: that stall was like heaven for me. In line with my love for type, I purchased a singlet screen printed with a massive ampersand. The road home also found us visiting the Glass House Mountains and Krispy Kreme, which is a perfect end to any day I say. What did you get up to this weekend? x

Tea and Crazy Love

Today marked the last day of doing nothing before college goes back for my final two weeks ever! These last two weeks haven given me the worst anxiety, for no reason whatsoever as I am nicely up to date with every thing (possibly ahead) but still, these last few days have been horrible. So today, after sorting out one school related thing, I endeavoured to do everything but study and forced myself to have some time out. Enter some retail therapy in the form of tea cups, candles and Koorong sales. I am now sitting drinking tea out of my massive new mug, and reading my beautiful new magazines while blasting the Les Mis film soundtrack. Heres to less anxiety, new things, huge cups of tea, revolution and some crazy, crazy love. x

Inspiré par Disney: A Photographical Tribute.

Today I had the absolute pleasure of photographing one of best girls I know. As one of my final assignments for college, I have to photograph a series of photos, one for each letter of the alphabet - que Inspiré par Disney. This collection of images is a sneak peak of the final product, but say hello to Pocahontas, Jane (from Tarzan),  The Princess (from the Princess and the Frog), Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio and Rapunzel. They're hiding underneath the jump. I cannot wait to finish this baby off and have a complete set of Disney and Fairy Tale inspired photos. What would be your favourite Disney character to dress up as? x
